Vaillant Boiler Service and Vaillant Boiler Repair
A Vaillant boiler service once a year keeps the boiler safe and efficient, catches worn parts before they fail and, in most cases, keeps the manufacturer warranty valid. We service and repair Vaillant boilers whether or not we fitted them, and because Vaillant is our preferred manufacturer and we are an approved Vaillant Advanced Installer, we know the range and its common faults well.
What a Vaillant service covers
A proper service is more than a quick look. On each visit we:
- Check the gas supply, pressure and burner operation
- Analyse the flue gases to confirm the boiler is burning safely and efficiently
- Inspect the heat exchanger, seals and flue for wear or leaks
- Check and clear the condensate trap and pipe
- Check system pressure, the expansion vessel and safety devices
- Record the readings so you have a service history for the warranty
Why servicing matters for your warranty
Manufacturer warranties on boilers usually require an annual service by a Gas Safe registered engineer, with the visit recorded. If a boiler goes several years without a service, a later fault may not be covered. Keeping to a yearly service is the simplest way to protect the warranty and avoid a winter breakdown. Our boiler service cost guide explains what affects the cost of a service.
Common Vaillant faults we repair
Vaillant boilers show a fault code on the display when something stops them working. Some of the codes we see most often relate to ignition, low water pressure, flame loss and condensate problems. An F28 code, for example, generally points to the boiler failing to ignite, while F75 relates to the pressure sensor or pump not detecting a pressure change. Our Vaillant fault codes guide lists the common codes and the safe checks you can make yourself.
Typical repairs include frozen or blocked condensate pipes in cold weather, pressure loss from a leak or a tired expansion vessel, failing fans, pumps or diverter valves, and ignition problems. We diagnose the cause first, explain it and agree the repair before fitting parts.
What to tell us when you book
If the boiler has stopped, note the fault code on the display and the reading on the pressure gauge before you call. Tell us the model if you can see it on the front panel or the data badge underneath, and whether anything changed just before the fault, such as a cold night, a leak or work elsewhere in the house. Many problems can be narrowed down from that information, so we arrive with the most likely parts.
For a routine service, booking ahead of winter makes it easier to fit around you, and it means any worn parts are replaced before the heating is working hardest.
Boilers we did not fit
You do not need to have had your boiler installed by us. We service and repair Vaillant boilers fitted by other installers, and if the boiler is nearing the point where repairs no longer make sense, we tell you plainly. For new Vaillant boilers see our Vaillant boiler installation page, and for other makes see servicing and repairs.
We cover Kelso, the Scottish Borders and East Lothian.
Vaillant Boiler Service and Repair questions
How often should a Vaillant boiler be serviced?
Once a year. Annual servicing keeps it safe and efficient and is normally a condition of the manufacturer warranty.
What does a Vaillant F28 or F75 code mean?
F28 generally means the boiler failed to ignite, and F75 relates to the pressure sensor or pump not detecting a pressure change. Our Vaillant fault codes guide explains these and the safe checks to try first.
Do you service Vaillant boilers you didn't fit?
Yes. We service and repair Vaillant boilers whoever installed them, and keep a record of each visit for your warranty.
Can you service other makes too?
Yes. We service and repair all makes; Vaillant is simply the brand we know best and prefer to install.
