A heat pump installation needs ongoing care as a complete heating system. The outdoor unit, water circuit, controls and hot water cylinder all contribute to performance. Keep the area around the outdoor unit clear of leaves and obstructions and use the operating guidance supplied for your system. Do not open covers or attempt work on electrical or refrigerant components. Our servicing page separates the safe observations a householder can make from checks that need an engineer.
Annual servicing covers the appliance and connected system, including water pressure, filters, controls and cylinder operation. Manufacturer servicing requirements should be checked against your own paperwork rather than assumed from another model. A brief defrost cycle can be normal in cold, damp conditions, but recurring error codes, poor heat delivery or persistent pressure problems need fault-finding. Note the displayed code and the circumstances instead of repeatedly changing settings or resetting the unit.
