Plumbing Repairs in Kelso and the Borders

We handle everyday plumbing faults such as dripping taps, running cisterns, failed valves and leaking pipework. We find the source before disturbing walls or floors, then explain whether a targeted repair or a replacement part is the sensible fix before any chargeable work starts.

Jobs we do

Most repair calls are smaller, non-urgent jobs that still need doing properly:

  • Dripping taps and worn valves
  • Toilets and cisterns that keep running
  • Outside taps
  • Leaking joints and pipework
  • Recurring pressure loss

Find the source first

A damp patch is not always under the pipe that is leaking. We separate the symptom from the source by checking visible fittings, pressure and the affected areas methodically. Older imperial fittings and mixed pipe materials can change the permanent repair method, so we look before we promise.

Photos help, but diagnosis comes first

Send us a photograph and a clear description and we can often bring likely parts on the first visit. We will not pretend a concealed fault can be priced unseen, though. Options and cost are explained before chargeable remedial work begins.

Repair rather than replace

Where a repair is safe and durable, we repair. If a part keeps failing and replacement is better value, we say so. After the fix, water is restored, the repair is tested and any follow-on risks are noted. If you need findings and photos for an insurer, we can record those too.

What helps us fix it first time

Tell us what you have noticed, when it started, and whether it is getting worse. A photo of the tap, valve or pipework and anything written on it helps us bring the right parts. Knowing where your internal stop valve is before we arrive also saves time, and we can show you if you are not sure.

If it is urgent

This page is for everyday repairs. For a burst pipe or flooding, turn off the internal stop valve if safe, open cold taps to relieve pressure, and call the 24/7 locally answered line on 07747 002334. Our emergency plumber page explains what we handle out of hours. Office hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm, and we cover the Scottish Borders and East Lothian from Kelso.

Plumbing Repairs questions

Can you price a repair from a photograph?

Photos help with preparation, but concealed causes usually need diagnosis before a fixed repair price is responsible.

What should I do during a burst pipe?

Turn off the internal stop valve if safe, open cold taps to relieve pressure and move belongings away from the leak.

Will you repair rather than replace?

Yes where a repair is safe and durable. We explain when repeated failure makes replacement better value.

Do you do small jobs like a dripping tap?

Yes. Taps, cisterns, valves and small pipework repairs are all part of our everyday work.

Can you provide notes for an insurance claim?

Where escape-of-water evidence is needed, findings and photographs can be recorded.

Do you cover my area for small repairs?

We are based in Kelso and cover the Scottish Borders and East Lothian. Office hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm.
